Equal Pay Day is a reminder of my own journey and finding my voice and courage to challenge my "unequal" pay. This year the date is March 14 and it shows how far into the next year women must work to earn the same salary as men in the past year. When we break down to different demographics we find the double bind experienced by Black & Brown Women with salary disparity even larger for these groups. Some progress toward salary equity is happening especially in major cities but more organizations need to "correct" pay disparity and not make it the burden of the employee to right the wrong.
